On Sunday 25 September the club hosted four junior teams from Breadsall, Chesterfield and two from Kedleston in the final of the Derbyshire Junior League. The season had started with 14 teams from10 clubs playing in four leagues, with the four winning league teams qualifying for the final. The Ashbourne junior team had just missed out on qualifying for the final, losing by one rubber in their last league match against Chesterfield.
Playing conditions proved tricky with a cold breeze, and the course provided a good test of golf for all the players. Even so several parents braved the cold to support the teams and it was impressive that two of the players managed to play to a net 71.
With the two best scoring players from three to count, Breadsall emerged as overall winners scoring a very good total of net 147. Runners up were Chesterfield with net 153.
