ASHBOURNE MEN'S OPEN - ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL DAY FOR CLUB CAPTAIN BARRIE RITCHIE
There was an excellent turn out for the Men's Open on Sunday 26 June, which was won by Club Captain Barrie Ritchie and his partner Steve Gunn from Chesterfield, with an impressive 46 points. A full report can be found on the men's section of the website and a list of prize winners and results here.
ASHBOURNE PAIR IN WINNING TEAM AT LADIES OPEN AM.AM.
Alison Westerman and Anne Weaver from Ashbourne playing with Helen Jessop and Tina Bond from The Manor were the winners of the ladies AM. AM. held on Saturday 25 June.
It was a blustery and showery and at time sunny day but despite this there were some very good scores, not least from the winners who came in with an excellent 86 points.
Runners up were J. Bland, C. Holland, J. Hopkins and J Turner from Tapton Park, with 83points and third were Y. White, R. Wheatley, A. Allen and E. Kelly from Kedleston with 82 points.
Fourth prize went to Gill Lockwood and Sally Benn who played with Maggie Smith and Yvonne Mellor from Breadsall Priory.
The course was in excellent condition and thanks to all those who helped on the day, especially Helen Mudie who did a great job setting up the half way house and Angela and Dee who assisted on the day. Also thanks to Anne Weaver and Angela who acted as starters and to the ladies who supplied cakes, all of which went down a treat and more importantly, made £89.00 in donations towards the ladies' charity for this year, The Motor Neurone Disease Assocailtion
