MICK GRUNDY MEMORIAL TROPHY RAISES A FURTHER £3,325 FOR ANTHONY NOLAN TRUST - TOTAL NOW £60,768


The 25th playing of the annual Mick Grundy Memorial Competition, in aid of the Antony Nolan Leukaemia Charity took place  at the Club on Sunday 18th September 2022. As always it was well supported by 28 teams of four and raised  £3,325  for the Anthony Nolan Trust The total raised by this competition since Mick died in 1998 has reached £60,768.

The winning team, comprised of Ashbourne members Gill Lockwood, Simon Lockwood, Sally Benn and Anthony Bates. Their winning score of 93 points, which was 21 under par was 5 clear of the rest of the field..

The best gross score of the day was claimed by Nottinghamshire County players with a 4 under par score of 138..

Mick Grundy  was a member of the Ashbourne golf club and played for the County first team on 50 occasions before losing his three-year battle with Leukaemia in May 1998, aged 29.

The Anthony Nolan is an independent charity, so it continually relies of financial support from individuals and organisations to carry out its lifesaving work in taking lives back from blood cancers.
