We welcome Junior members, whether beginners to the game, or those looking to improve their game.
Junior Captain for 2023 is George Derbyshire
George is 13 years old and attends Denstone School where, as well as sport, he particularly enjoys Maths, Physics and Languages. He has played golf regularly since he was 6 years old and currently plays off a handicap index of 14.5 and hopes to reduce this to below 12 in the 2023 season.
He has had success in both the Derbyshire Futures Tour and the Robert Rock Tour and will continue on the Robert Rock Tour in 2023.
He rates winning a two day event on the Robert Rock tour playing Coxmoor on the first day and Mapperley on the second as his most successful performance. He has also won the Matlock Junior Open in 2021 and Ashbourne Junior Open in 2022.
Away from golf George enjoys playing cricket. He considers himself an all rounder and plays for Brailsford and Ednaston Cricket Clubs as well as school teams.
