Welcome to the Ladies section of the website.
A friendly welcome awaits any lady who is interested in playing or learning how to play golf. New members whatever their standard, are always welcome and encouraged to join in with other lady members. There are approximately 45 lady members at the club who play golf socially and/or in the competitions. Do not worry if you do not have a handicap. When you are ready the ladies will be happy to score any qualifying cards for you.
For those who wish to play in competitions, competition days are normally Thursdays and Sundays. Ladies can, if they wish, play in both the Thursday and Sunday Medals and can compete in other competitions on one day or the other. There are numerous competitions throughout the season as well as additional mixed social competitions on some weekends. In the summer, there is a weekly nine hole social competition which is played from Thursday to the following Wednesday. It takes a different format each week and there is a social evening and presentation on a Wednesday at the conclusion of each of these competitions.
Mixed competitions include the Knott Trophy, a knockout mixed greensome matchplay competition, Cliffe Lockwood Trophy, Brooker Trophy and the Win Roome Trophy which this year will be presented to the winners of the mixed away day.
We have our nine hole standard scratch certificate and handicap conversions, which enable us to hold nine hole qualifying competitions, including a number of Tuesday stableford competitions
Silver and Bronze league matches, The Daily Mail Foursomes, Taskers (formally Spondon) Trophy (for over 50s) and Scratch League are organized for those ladies who enjoy the challenge of match play.
